Zoological Society of Kerala

• The Journal, published biannually by the society, has original research papers, short communications, review articles, book reviews and professional news, in different branches of Zoology.

• The programmes of the society and abstracts of papers presented at seminars / workshops organised by the society are published as supplements to the Journal.

• Through ASAT the ZSK introduced several models of questions by which the real aptitude of the student in zoology was tested.

• Every year more than 1000 degree students from all over Kerala participated in this test.

• Prizes and certificates are given to the winners of the test both at the university and state levels.

• Preliminary level-At all colleges in Kerala

• Zonal level-At 5-8 selected centres from different regions

• Final-Quiz ,conducted as a part of ZOOFEST

Feedback –Well appreciated by colleges throughout Kerala

• The Zoology Association of a college like any other subject association was doomed to die on the day of its birth. The only function that is organized is the inauguration.

• The Best Zoology Association trophy that is given by the society brought in a drastic change in the functioning of the Zoology Associations. Every year 300 to 400 students from the different colleges come together and exhibit their talents and present the report of their association activities.

• Trophies and prizes are given to the best manuscript magazine and for different items including Quiz competition, Dissection and Scientific drawing competitions.

• The members of ZSK meet every year to spend a couple of days to stay and share their views and evaluate the activities of the year.

• A visit to a nearby area of ecological importance is part of the camp.

• The action plan for the coming year is also chalked out.
